WTQA Members’ Webinar on Tai Chi Treatise by Wang Zong-Yue
Presented by Sifu Sam Au
Sunday 23rd February at 1.30pm (webinar will be recorded)
The Tai Chi Treatise by Wang Zongyue (太極拳論 - 王崇岳著) is arguably the most famous classical writing on Tai Chi. If you buy a Tai Chi book that has a chapter on Tai Chi Classics, you are likely to find this essay included as one of the first pieces of writing.
The webinar will explore the meaning of the Tai Chi Treatise and, if we have time, will attempt to answer questions like:
Is the Treatise still relevant to practitioners’ everyday lives?
Does the Treatise define the essential characteristics of Tai Chi?
Can the Treatise really help to improve the martial art skills of practitioners?
If you are a beginner to Tai Chi and have not studied the Tai Chi Treatise before, this will provide you with a good overview of this Tai Chi classic. If you are an experienced Tai Chi practitioner, this will be a good opportunity to revisit this Tai Chi classic and perhaps share your understanding and experience with fellow Tai Chi practitioners.
The 22nd WTQA Festival 2024
We are delighted to share our write-up of the 22nd WTQA Festival with accompanying photos courtesy of Archivist Media and members of the Camberwell Camera Club.
The 22nd WTQA Festival took place on Saturday, October 12th, at Carwatha College in Noble Park North, offering participants and spectators a fresh experience. This year, we introduced a new format focused on demonstration rather than competition, which was met with great enthusiasm from our member schools.
